help with yellow tail rigging
I think my rigging is wrong and wanted to ask for help. I rig a size 8 hook at the bottom of the line- 5 feet up i add a swivel and above it an egg sinker.
Is the correct for Yellow Tail?
Is this the same for squid and anchovies?
Fishing for Sea Bass is the rigging the same?
I find the sinker floats up when casting making my harder.
Should the sinker be below the swivel?
_ 5ft -
Hook-----------------------swivel-----egg sinker----------------------------pole!
Thanks Again-DBAY

use beads, lots of them...works for me!
for flylining, put a slider of your choice and tie the line right to the hook. Loose the swivels
Anything else, simple ole dropper loop

Here is how I fish your yellowtail...Ditch the swivels. Put sliding egg sinker (1/8 - 1/2) on line. Tie larger hook directly to the line and you are done. Works great for me. Depending on the size of bait, I like to carry heavy guage size 2-4/0. Size 8 seems way too small...Or just tie hook directly to line and fly line bait with no weight.

Flyline or dropper loop, no beads, no swivels, ect.
On the flyline, use a sliding egg sinker according to the bait size and current, probably between 1/8 and 1/2 ounce.
A 3 to 5 foot chunk of fluorocarbon would help as well, connected to your main line with a seagar knot. For hooks, I always stick with the owner ringed flyliner.
Dropper loop is pretty self explanatory, just do a surgeons loop instead of the standard dropper. They are much stronger.

# 8 hook???.............only if your using pinhead anchovies!
Try a #4-2 with anchovies, #1-2/0 if sardines and a #3/0-4/0 if fishing squirts.

That's right on there. The surgeons loop is a better loop, its a straighter pull to the main line.
