Work in Hollywood at the Sunset Gower studios and let me tell you that OLD a$$ building shook like a pair of maracas! we waisted NO time and ran the heck out. 5.4 felt much stronger to us on the second floor.
Keep the small ones coming so the BIG one never shows it's ugly face.

For a while I thought I was missing a nut...then I realized it was just hiding.

I caught me while I was in the US Bank Tower in Downtown L.A. I was in a Data Room troubleshooting the network of a Law Firm on guess what floor...Fifty friggin Eight! Yup, 58th floor ladies & gentlemen. Sucker shook like a giant Jello Jiggler. That should should be explanation enough as to why I couldn't find my 2nd nut!

We were evacuated and let back in about an hour later after they ensured that there were no fires or gas leaks in the building. Sucked, but on the clock it's alright. It worked out though cuz I met a nice young lady who needed some major comforting. Oh man, I love natural disasters, the ladies seem to open up & express their needs of the opposite SEX!

Hope everyone & their loved ones are OK as well. Stay safe & make sure you check your E-Quate kits!

Well I live about 5 miles from the epicenter and my girlfriend lives pretty much at ground zero for the quake. it was a 5.8 and was about 2.5 miles south of chino hills from what the newsies have to say. It wasn't the end of the world but it damn sure tore up the place good. I had a ton of stuff get knocked around and broken and have cracks in the walls and stuff like that now and she has massive cracks in her walls both inside and out.

Agreed....That made me giggle.....

I was in Woodland Hills at one of our Retail Stores taking measurements on our big 80 Gallon 5HP Compressors that all started to go down like freakin bowling pins.....I don't even have nuts, but If I did I would have lost both for sure.....

People sure freaked out...No one did the right thing, ie...under tables, doorways, against the wall.....everyone took off for the exit door...straight Panic mode...

Who has all the Guns and Ammo...that's where I want to be when the big one hits cuz I tell you what....No one is prepared for the BIG ONE!!!!!! I forsee CHAOS....

mickeysindahouse......That is a Rad Avatar...........Too Funny...

Felt it pretty good here in Long Beach.

I live in a 4 story loft building and my unit takes up space on the 3rd and 4th floors. I was in my office on the 4th floor while my 3 year old was playing by himself down stairs in the living room.

I very familiar with quakes having lived in Cali all my life and being only 20 miles from the epicenter on the much bigger Northridge quake. I kinda just stood still and waited to see if it was going to get stronger and more violent, or roll away and taper off.
Then I heard a curious yell..."Daddy?!?!?!"... come from downstairs. I ran down to make sure he was OK and all he was worried about is why the TV was moving around. It's great to be a care free kid.

I personally think medium size quakes like this are a good way to remind everyone to get/keep their earthquake kits in order and get all your fragile items secured. Not to mention it's the only downside I can think of about living in beautiful California. I guess we have to pay for the ocean and the sun somehow.
(beside the astronomical real estate prices...LOL)

Hope everyone else faired well.

Best Regards.

Got woken up twice last night by aftershocks...

As long as my aquarium doesn't hit the floor, it's all good.

Fun stuff!
