Taking a trip...Sea Adventure 80 / H&M Landing

Going on my first overnight trip.
Leaving out of H&M Landing Thursday night on the Sea Adventure 80.
They say the goal is Tuna, Yellowtail and Dorado.

Wish me luck !!!!

I've got a 7' Seeker American Series (20lb.) w/ a Daiwa Sealine X30...strung with fresh 20lb mono.
And a new 8' BWCH270H-C Calstar (15-40lb) w/ a new Daiwa Saltist 30TH...strung with 50lb spectra + 30lb topshot.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
In exchange I'll put together a nice post of the action with photo's and all!

Try to make sure you pick the most lively bait you can find. Not necessarily the biggest. Keep your line straight out in front of you at all times. Check your drag settings before you start fishing. Make sure you stay shuffling(don't park yourself in the corner). Check your line for nicks and abrasions after each fish you hook. Bring plenty of sunscreen, and use it. Don't forget to eat the still beating heart of the first tuna you catch.

John's advice is great..only addition I have it to make sure that when you get bit to let the fish take it for a second....Once your line starts screamin' off your reel you should give it the ol' one one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand....then put it in gear and let it load up before you set the hook, unless you are going to fish circle hooks, then they will set themselves.....I have seen a lot of beginner Tuna fisherman get nada because they get bit and get so excited they pull the bait right out of the fishes mouth...Let 'em eat it!!!!!!!

I'll expand on what John said above:
check 5'-10' of your line AND re-tie your hook after each fish.

pay attention during the safety/fishing seminar on the way out.

I agree lively bait is key! Use ringed hooks too and don't go too big on em. 2's for chovies and 2/0 for your dines. Keep that Calstar at the ready too. Bluefin have been mixin in and you dont wanna be rushin to rig up if that bite pop's off. I just talked to a dude yesterday that hooked a small marlin on his 3 day'r but farmed it. Poor guy is broken hearted. TIGHT LINES BROTHA
