Question for CaptHooks

When are your bait receivers going to be in service?

PLEASE?

That "other place" DEFINITELY needs competition.

1 scoop = 2 ---- 1/3 scoops of weak anchovies (and a few sardines for flavor)

A $5 tip = "I only have 3 singles readily available so you tipped me $7 thank you very much". At noon on a friday the guy didn't have more singles and/or a $5 bill?????

If it was decent bait, I would have had no problem giving $5 per scoop. (we got 2 scoops for the weekend)

BTW:
2 "scoops" of weak anchovies (and a few sardines for flavor) at CISCOS = what we all get from Ventura as ONE SCOOP....of strong sardines.

I have run into the same problem at CI Sportfishing. The bait has been horrible and very weak scoops. Even after a 5 dollar tip, they are still stingy.

Luckily we can trailer to Ventura

I pulled into "Hook's" Saturday morning. There were a few guys there fishing, one of them quickly laid his rod down, and helped me tie up. He was also the bait guy...said I only needed $20 worth...he made 3 smallish passes of mixed dines and chovies and I gave him $25...he shoved me off and I left feeling good about it. A few baits died on the 20 mile trip out, but the bait held up pretty good I thought.

I don't even know what bait costs for a "scoop". I was fishing alone so I think $20 worth is plenty (and it was more than enough). Are you guys questioning the quality or quantity??? I though both were OK, but not sure I'm comparing apples to apples.

My original post above was referring 100% to CISCOs' bait dock and my experiences over there.

When did CaptHooks start selling live bait?

Are CaptHooks' receivers now online fulltime for servicing private boats?

If so....that's FANTASTIC NEWS!

We'll, the receiver's look brand new...but I'm not sure how long they have been operating. I was just impressed on how efficient they were. The bait was acceptable, the facilities (new), just not sure of the prices since I really didn't ask. $20 worth was more than enough for me ( and probably 2 other guys...without chumming too much!). Sorry, not much help.

Agreed. When Megan is dipping, she takes good care of us at Ciscos.
