Alberto, albright, bob sands, (all the same basic in which spectra wraps around the flouro, or mono) work great, note which direction the tag end is pointing in the roddy hays knot, it goes out , off the reel, without any catching , or hanging up in the rod guides, however; a uni/uni will . But for bait fishing or a long topshot,(One that doesn't get casted out through guides), there's nothing to worry about. Try a lil Loctite glue and that will keep the tag in check as well. If you want all spectra to a very short topshot (3-6ft., remember:this never passes through any rod guides!!) then put a bimini twist looped knot and cats paw to a very small steel ring and then tie on a leader to the ring, this way your spectra never gets cut every time you need another topshot. great for bottom, heavy jigs etc.. This should be used with a fast action rod, (A sensitive and flippy tip, but rated strong enough for the test of line, weight of jig. Many Kayak and butterfly jig rods are like this.)

I bought some 40# wire on leader, can I tie an end loop at 65# spectra, and use the loop to loop connection? Is this knot easy to cast and easy to untie and change to another class leader? Thanks.

An old trout fishing trick with leadcore line is to strip back the shell of the line 5 or 6 inches then pull the "skirt" of outer braid back down and insert your mono leader all the way in, Then take the area where the mono is up the "skirt" and tie a figure 8 knot within the skirt. This will give a smooth transition between the two lines, you can add two or three figure 8s if you need to.I have even run double leaders with this method it just depends on the size mono your using.

That does work will if you can get hollow in the 30-40 range. Inserting the mono with a needle works great. You need to have a least 18" so the mono will not be pulled out. Very clean with no knots what so ever. I would recommend wrapping the end of the braid and mono with a very thin thread and then using some ZAPP.

A simple overhand knot works just as well as thread and glue, and that little overhand knot is so small you'll never even know it's there.
