60# tuna/dropper loop rod????!!!!

Hey Brothas. I am having a rod built by Pete @ Just Fishing in Redondo Bch.
I want to venture into the 5 day trips in the early spring.I have a Tiagra 16 that is in need of spectra and a top shot. Also needs a rod to mate with! I am 6'0" 190# and built more like a cat than a pitbull.Give me some input please, so I can save some $$$ by not doing the 'buy and try'. I am a Seeker black steel / Shimano guy but have no problem cheating on them!
Rod guides? How long? Cork tape (DHS)?

Chris,
I will be starting my own 60# rod soon enough. I bought a Super Seeker CJBF70XH blank. It will have a hypalon grip and aluminum reel seat. I'm either going with the Titan Turbos or the Fuji HBSGs in chrome. I am only waiting on the reel seat and gimbal. It depends on what length you're comfortable fishing.
