Hey guys. I have been getting a lot of PM's about the reel clamp I have on this rod so I thought I would post what it is.

It's called a cork puppy and is designed to go over a cork "deckhand" style grip. They are made by a company out of San Diego called JR Jones. They are slowly becoming available at most tackle stores but around here (Long Beach), the only place I could find one is at Performance Tackle in Los Alamitos. They work great and are very low profile.

Nice job on the rod!

Thanks Pineapple. You can get your hands on it on the Fathers Day trip.

I think a tip somewhere in the $100 range is the norm, LOL.

Actually Brian, I didin't expect a tip so the one you gave me is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Randy.

I don't think he's talking about that kind of tip.

Hey, you are not supposed to be on this board

I wasn't sure if I should or not, that's why I was asking on this board because I figured you would never see it.

I kinda figured since you were charging me labor for the rod that you were not really expecting one, like a few of the guys said. Anyway, I hope you were not offended that I didn't give you a tip. It's not that I didn't want to, I just thought what we agreed upon was fair and a better tip would be to have you wrap me some more rods and spread the word about how great of a job you did.

Well, without any further ado, I would like to present all you Get Benters with Randy Search. This is the gentleman who wrapped the beautiful rod you see in the rod building forum.

Welcome to the boards. I think you will find that there are a lot of nice people here and much less controversy than on BD. We like people to introduce ourselves here so why don't you take some time and go over to the introduction board and tell everyone about yourself. Thanks again Randy.

Brian,
But, you did overpay me a bit and didn't want the difference (I know it wasn't alot). Your absolutely correct, the price I quoted you was for the complete rod (parts and labor) so that's it out-the-door, nothing else. Offended? Are you kidding? I DON'T expect a tip so that's not even in the equation. My "tip" is that your happy with the rod and it does everything you expect and more. That's it, bottom line. Randy.
