missing kayakers

It's 5:25pm, Wednesday, and the Channel 7 news (LA) just reported that 4 kayakers left Ventura but only 2 came back. The Coast Guard is now out looking for them. Say a prayer for those 2 guys... hope they're found soon. Also hope that they're not GetBenters...

Hopefully the GB Preacher will do his thing here; his words always make me feel better. Prayers are sent!

Father you have given us the sea for rest, for food, for a challenge. You are LORD over all, there is no other like you, no other that can create a great fish to pursuade the prophet Jonah to see things your way. You alone dear Jesus told the wind and the waves be still and they obeyed, you dear Lord rescued Peter after having granted him permission to walk on the water, he took his eyes off of you and began to sink.
Dear God, as of yet we know not whom these missing kyakers are, we don't know if they are friends, members of this board. What we do know is they are men who like us go down to the sea in boats, as did your disciples. We know you loved these men having given yourself for thier salvation, we know that you know the joy of being on the water. We know of your love for boats be they Arks or fishing boats. We ask you dear LORD have mercy, to bring these men safely to shore. To protect them and love them, and keep them free from harm. Hear our prayers and incline your ear to hear our many prayers. Father for the men on the water and the families that may yet await their return, perhaps even not knowing yet that they are missing, let them have your peace that passes understanding.
Lord give the men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard and other agencys in this search the gift of wisdom that they may find these missing kyakers. Give us cause to celebrate, as we take this moment to express our hopes and hearts as you have given us all cause to approach the water with caution and not to presume on your grace.

Bring them home to us Lord God, they will be with you soon enough, we ask not now in heaven but with us here on earth.

Your will be done, in Jesus name we come before your throne.

Amen.

That is sad to hear.
Yesterday I was at Malibu watching the wind surfers and kiters. I said to myself 'no way am I going out tomorrow'. It looked nasty.
