Where: Channel Is Harbor

When: Sunday, 9-11-05

Water Conditions: First high tide, 3.5ft, 67 deg F, red tide

Air Conditions: Partly cloudy, windy

Craft: Hobie Mirage Tandem

Setup: Perch grubs, pinhead anchovies.

Catch:1 cabezon, 1 walleye perch, CPR'd.

The red tide spanned from the Harbor Patrol Blacktip to the breakwater. Strangely enough, the water was clear inside the harbor. It was too windy so I didn't go out to the pond - no flattiestoday. I didn't see anyone catch much today, but another kayaker said he caught a legal WSB out there yesterday. I am going to take a comp day from work tomorrow and try there again. Any company would be welcome.

Here's the perch and cabbie:

yeah, thats weird about the red tide... it seems to be all over the Ventura coast right now. I was in the harbor today and it was thick! ...guess you lucked out.

Also... not surprised about the legal WSB... Ive been hearing about allot of them being caught in the harbors lately.

Nice picture of the cabby! Better luck next time on the flatties
