Slept in and got a late start..on the water at 7:30.

Got to the first Kelp and nailed this guy on my second cast.

Then heard a big splash and look over to see a big boil...no seals around so I head over....cast and hookup! Dink calico....but wait!!! Stop the press!!!
BIG SHADOW Below!
A good 50-60lb Black Seabass is after him!! Oh no!

INHALED and Hookup!! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz
for the next 40 seconds before I thumb the spool to keep from being spooled and pop!
Sorry no pics of that...to intense that early in the morning and no time to snap a pic. Highlight of my day though!
Next up my biggest Calico of the morning.

Video of his release.
Then the Biggest Calico EVER! While making bait for the drift back in.

Then started to get Johnnies on the end of my sabiki(Big Hammer Swimbait as the weight.)

A bigger model.
Then the rest of the bait was an interesing mix of Spanish/Jumbo Smelties/Senoritas.

All for not as no love from the butts today...not even a rake...though the wind was blowing and I was in close for the drift.
Finished off with close to a Dozen Calico's, the "released" BSB, a couple of Johnny's, 5 smelt, 2 Spanish Macs, and 2 senoritas.
Off the water at 11:30. Glassy until the wind came up at exactly 11:00. All fish caught on Big Hammer's minus the bait on sabiki's. No love on dropshot'd Gulp Squidlies in Sugar and Spice and 2" Gulp Watermelon grubs.
