Decided to take Friday off after my travel week to do some fishing. Unfortunately, I slept in too late to go up to SB or down to Leo. Didn't want to hassle with the traffic, so we went to the local harbor. They still charge $15 per scoop of sardines-doesn't make sense to me. They're out there anyway, what effort is it to scoop out $5? Anyway, we decided to go to a different spot than usual. We found a nice hole on the North side of the Jetty and got plenty of raked baits, but only one hookup-short. Next time I will pre-tie up some fishtrap style hooks. Caught a bird as well: the dang thing came right up to the yak and stole a sardine from my fishing pole! Brought our sandwiches and had a leisurely lunch on the yak. Advice: don't go near the break water- the flies are swarming! We used insect repellent, but they would land on any square inch that wasn't covered-summer is here! We'll probably go out to SB or Leo on Monday or Tuesday (July 4th) if anyone is interested-let me know.
