Arco Isle 7/3

Fished from 6-12 at Arco. Forgot my sonar back at home so was blind. Decided to just work the area around the island and the pilings. The plan was to make bait and drift for halibut. Easy bait on the protected side of the island, greenies, spanish, smelt, and even tiny chovies. Two baits went to sandys, the tiny ones went to ronkies, and one spanish mac got raked by the right kind, but didn't stick....don't know how it missed the trap hook....Had a few small barracuda followers on the plastic. Worked the pilings with plastic for a sandy and then the worked my way back to the point and to oilies for an easy landing....will post pix when I get back home.....Dan

Thanks for the report Dan. Not bad at all considering no fish finder.
