7/18 SD Bay report con fotos

Headed down to Coronado island to catch the rising tide. Launched from Tidelands park at 12 and started fishing a couple of minutes later...water temp was a balmy 76 Degrees. I was targeting halibut with two dropshot rigs using a zoom fluke on one and a Gulp shrimp on the other, with the weight being a swimbait on the shrimp rig. Back on land at 2.

Ended the outting with 3 spotties on the shrimp, 1 microbutt on the fluke, and a first for me: I was heading to a new area, and left the swimbait out behind me....I look back and the rod is bent and something is pulling some drag. Get the scrappy little guy up and it's my first Corvina. Pretty cool.

Here are a few pix.

Ah!! great minds think alike! I'm rigged and set to go with both here in a few minutes!
And congrats on the Corvina...with them gone from the Salton Sea it's good to see them somewhere else.

Way to go Dan. The only times (3) that I have caught a corvina was in the surf and I snagged all three.

Looks cool. Do you think a 10 foot inflateable boat with 2hp outboard would work for fishing down there?
