From Cali and around anacapa and back. All before Noon!
Wow! I find that hard to imagine. That is way too much.

The distance from Scorpion Ranch to Yellow Bank is at least 5 miles. The same distance from Jalama to Point Conception. That's hard core, at least with Yellow banks you can camp somewhere on the way home.

Yeah have you sean the yaks they use? My fat butt couldn't even fit half way into those yaks. They're really narrow and really long. I imagine they paddle pretty fast. But that's still a loooooong paddle.

From reading their trip reports they can do the crossing leisurely in 2.5 to 3hrs...3 hrs being the rookie time. This includes rest stops.
Long paddles for them are 50NM in a day!

26 miles round trip is too far for me, but I would definately be interested in a mother ship trip if an body has the desire to put it together.

Is Flatty Matty's boat The Prevailer on the water? His 29 ACB is the ideal six pack for yaks. Fast, smooth, fuel efficient and maybe you can talk him into putting a rack on the wheel house. I think he has towed the kayaks before but thats much slower and in rough water it can be pretty tough.

Patience gentlemen... a mothership trip is coming soon to an island near you... and you won't be disappointed! It's very difficult to put together a trip in the middle of summer when every boat is chartered every weekend... but thanks to one of our member's influence and commitment to his yakking buddies, this trip WILL happen... soon, very soon... stay tuned for updates...
