Schedule allowed another shot at some yellows this morning, so I hit it! 4AM launch and I paddled to Scripps pier and filled the tank with perfect greenbacks under the lights in about 10 minutes (always a good sign). Accidently hooked a ray on the sabiki, which proceded to smoke line until it busted off.
I put a bait out in closer than I normally do because of some recent reports of yellows holding shallow above the submerged kelp.
Just at late grey/early dawn, bait starts galloping all over the place...then, as far as I could see in the grey drizzle, the whole place erupts with bonies catching air, boiling, total frenzy. My bait rig instantly goes ZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZzz ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZz quick ten count, put in gear, and I'm on what feels like a yellow in the middle of all these bonies. Sure enough, nice little firecracker...

Released to grow a little moss on his back.
Rebait and toss it out. Then, yellows come up and are rolling and boiling on the bait....my heart is pounding. I am tossing iron at anything that moves, and am getting bonies on every few casts. Get another cast over a boil, l let it sink down, start the grind and it loads up nicely! Some nice back and forth and the bait rig goes ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I give it sec and then put in in gear, and I got a in the rod holder bendo! Get the iron fish on deck and then go to work on the other rod. Felt about the same size as the others, but it sounded and buried me in the kelp. Soon enough, my leader popped at the knot

Released the iron fish as well.
Then as fast as it started it went quiet.....right place right time! Stoked.
Here are some pix and vids of the release......sorry for the bad quality, it was dark and drizzly and my camera sucks!
