Cabrillo 8-03

Launched at 6:30, cloudy but no wind. Made my way to the bait barge and loaded up. Pinned on my first bait and as I was setting up another rod ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ off goes my first bait . Grabbed the rod and brought in a 26 inch WSB. Was able to get both baits in the water this time....ZZZZZZZZZ now they're boyh going off. Two more just short
WSB. Was like that all morning,no legals but an awful lot of fun.Wind came up at 10:30, blew like heck....off the water at 11:00.

Yeah forgot to tell you about that wind they've got out there. Sorry I missed out! One thing to keep in mind whith the juvi's is to get them up and released asap. Those guys love to hang out around just about every bait receiver from Santa Barbara on down.

Those are nice fish! Did you try swimbaits at all? Looks glassy when those pics were taken.

Cabrillo

Got a dines at the reciever. I did throw Big Hammer swim baits with the same results( used the christmas tree color-they seemed to like it best.) Funny thing was is I was fishing as close to the entrance to the harbor as I could get without getting run over.As soon as I drifted a little ways in the bite stopped. Always had one bait on the bottom for the right kind -but no love.
Yes I did paddle over and see the ship.Very impressive.

Cabrillo

Yes it was very glassy untill the wind came up. Oh and I hope the ship that Grantar2 was refering to was that pirate looking ship-Cabrillo San Pedro.
