I agree that this first go round should stay a it smaller for a number of reasons.
- To be done properly we should have what is that a 502 or whatever for the non-profit charity. REASON: there have been to many supposed charities that have simply been a scam. I do not EVER want this one to be mistaken as one or even let anyone have any question. There are attorneys who may do this pro-bona
- When this is set up we will have one central location for the money to pass through keeping everything on the up and up so no questions are raised and accounting and auditing will be a snap.
- Coordination and setup can take a bit of time
OK now - FLATTY
I have no problem working this side of Florida, this site has been involved in charity events since 2000. I have never paid to fish unless it has been for a charity (other than regular costs), no pro pay events for me. Notice I have been involved in this since the beginning so I guess you are thinking nation wide working this State. Again I have no issues doing this.
I can definitely supply the web space needed to include running a separate domain if we wish (Kiddy Rods 4 Kiddy Cause or something). I already have the ability to do bidding on items as well kinda like eBay which can be useful for these type of events as well.
Will have to work on the tie in as the party boats in my area require 80# main line with 4/0 reel or bigger because of the structure they fish. I am sure I can get this resolved though. Want to bring the HUGE Inshore crowd into this as well.
As for the flier I can help here as well but believe we are better off with someone who is good at it. After design we would best see if we can get a sponsor like Kinko's or something who can donate the fliers to alleviate upfront costs.
OK well you guys couldn't tell but I was on the phone sorry. I have a few meetings next week for this. Looks good for multiple contacts (Inshore and Offshore) and a spot on the radio - SO THERE .... Team CostEFishNT ROCKS
