I Vote, The bigger the better...
wow, what did I start here...lol
It actually does make real good sence. The comedy of grown adults, fishing with kiddy poles for a cause outside of ourselves is priceless. This is actually a community effort fundraiser, and a big thumbs up for the fishing community as well. Publishing and producing agencies will be all over this to cover the story of how fishermen and women all came together for one single cause. To help our nation's children in desperate need, and to help save thier lives. By using the kiddy poles, it not only adds MUCH humor, but symbolizes that it is for these children. Sure the spin offs of that "warm fuzzy feeling" and having one MAJOR good time in the process, laughing at eachother at how silly we look, ect.. (not to mention the jokes that will come from this I'm sure

) But think of how it will involve those outside the community as well. I myself, am going to give a high ranking friend of mine at Amgen a call to sponsor me as soon as this is for sure. I will be asking for no less than 50k, and I will probebly get it. Tyco would probebly supply all the fishing rods needed, and I know how to contact the C.O.O.
Adversly, I would not reccomend changing the kiddy poles, other than to upgrade line. Slapping a high dollar or other reel on these would take away from the authenticity of it all, and kinda make it look like we were cheaters, in a weird kinda way...
Going nationwide-
MOST DEFINATLY! once the platform for this is set, forward it to every fishing club in the states, if that is possible. They would react just as positive as we have. All fishermen LOVE good humor. (At least all the ones I know do..lol) I don't think I know a captain or landing in the fleet who could charge full price for something as goodwilled, espessially if they know the publicity it will bring them, their boats, and the landings. No Way. I would bet that once the word got out, they would be stepping up to take a number to be involved. All it takes is communication and good planning.
