How do salas lures compare to similarly sized tady lures? Everytime I hear about large yellowtail being caught in San Diego it's on a salas 6x jr...never on a tady. What does everyone here use when yo-yoing? I only own 2 salar jrs in sardine and dorado colors and I've never fished with them since I bought them. I have a couple of sumo jigs that look identical to the jrs and a whole slew of tadys: AA's, A2's, 4/0, and 9s. I'd like to see which jigs are most popular among members here.
I sold all my tady's and went to salas 6Xjr's and their surface irons. Salas surface irons seems to kick better (IMO) both at high and low speeds and are a bit heavier for better casting distance. However I do regret selling all my tady 45's as they do present a smaller profile. Just in case the fish are targeting smaller baits. One other thing I've noticed is that the tady's are a hit or miss scenario for finding one that swims well where as the most of the salas swim well right off the rack.
I fish Tady 45's for my surface iron and yo-yo with 6X JR'S.Probably gonna buy and try some different surface irons this year if I make it to Cedros or Benitos.I need to get some 7X's.

swim=action of the lure. I typically look for jigs with a wide kicking action during the retrieve. I've been told to look for the jigs with the most offset "hips" as they provide the most action. Hope this clears it up.

My .02,
I've seen both Tady and Salas as well as other brands (Sumo, Ironman, UFO, etc...)swim well and seen them swim poorly too. Best advice - keep the ones that swim well and get bit, give the others to your buddys
