The main gear grinds on the lower part of the pinion (where it widens) whnever a thinner washer is inserted under the main gear. leaving the stock drag washer in place takes care of the problem.

Robert I did all 4 of my Tors and the only problem was the click pin. Use the washer to hold in place until you reassemble. No prob! I did both the washers and upgraded drag plate and love the outcome.

I find the pin/toothpick method (pictured above) easier than finaggling the washer over the pin. A few times and I can almost do it blindfolded.
