got a spectra question;

check it out-i fish the islands atleast twice a month and out front at the pipe and razor rock la jonel etc. too-my question and prob. is i fish 50lb.spect. and 30 top shot 15yds or so-anyways -my buddy Dan is always crying im goona tangle him becouse of my spectra vs his mono. but we never tangle-now he came up with this one-if you rub mono on spctra. it will tater it- shred it and make it furry so to speak-i know it can cut the mono if both are tight -but shred it?and ive tried to convert him too by the way- it aint happenen.

it can happen...but i try my best to avoid tangles..if hes so good at it..tell him to fish the other side of the boat..and limit him to one rod only....if that fails..keep accidentally cutting off all his favorite jigs when your untangling...

phishy is right that it can and will fry up mono. It usually cuts mono when you're on a fish with spectra and they have mono. I have heard stories of braid cut anchor chains. All I know is it sure cuts your fingers if your not careful heheh.
