yeah, I could see why you would want a top shot for off shore fishing...but its not that bad price wise just to fill up a reel like the a calcutta 300...I wish they made a left hand retrieve...im gonna have to pick up a LUNA.....

And speaking of top shots....The last offshore boat I went on, mostly everybody had there reels packed with braid with like only 3 to 10 feet of fluoro top shot/ shock tippets....

Just for clarification, there are four different Berkley fluorocarbon products on the market right now and two from Stren.

Berkley Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon - Professional Grade
Berkley Vanish Transition
Berkley Vanish
Berkley Trilene Big Game Fluorocarbon Leaders
Stren 100% Fluoro

and Stren Tinted Fluorocarbon Leaders

Ya, I was refering to the the Berkley Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon - Professional Grade line. I got a chance to use it yesterday. I'll do a small write up in the "reviews" section a little later today. It wont be anything special but at least I can give my opinion...

I love that line. To me it feels as smooth as a mono, but you've got the added strength and invisibility of a fluoro. A majority of B.A.S.S. tournament guys have been using that line since the beginning of the year. Boyd Duckett was using it when he won the Bassmaster Classic this year but is was still a "prototype" at the time. We didn't release the product to the public for another couple of months.

Anyway - it's the best fluorocarbon I've ever seen.
