Assist hooks or treble for rockfish

i bought some shimano butterfly jigs at eric's but he reccommeded i just put trebles on them if im doin rockfish. Use the assist hooks for tuna.
what do you guys think?

what about for yellers?

Might try them tomorrow

I am not a treble fan for bottom fishing. Yellows it isn't bad but honestly I just leave what ever hook comes with it unless they are old iron then I switch out to single hooks.

why would he say that....keep the assist hooks for rockfishing too.

it didnt come with any hooks but i had some from the williamson butterfly jigs so i put those on. Each one is about 1.5" long

headed out right now. Will report back

Assist hooks as you know are less likely to snag on the rocks so I use assist hooks. The assist hooks should not extend more than half way down the length of the jig since the fish tend to attack the head. I also haven't found any real advantage to using to using 2 hooks either.
