Calcutta, if only for calico then I would go 200 but if you want some more versatility then I would go 400. Personally don't like the teramar rods (to stiff) I have a Loomis g4 with my cal 400 for plastics. Again just personal choice.

Calcutta 200, 250, 200te, Daiwa luna 203, 253 for 12 lb test or Calcutta 300te, 400te, newell p220, trinidad 12 for 15lb line. Rod I would go with super seeker cjb90f plastics, 804, 806 live bait stick or calstar 800xl or 900xl graphiter

That's easy! Curado 300DSV or the new version Curado 300E. Fishing plastics and bait. Great for chovies. I use 50lb braid and top shot with mono.

However, I would bump up the Teramar to at least the 12-25 to match it up better. Killer rig.

I have been using my curado D 201 dhsv 7:0:1 for the calico's using 50 llb braid with fluro top shot if (they are they are being picky)......... turn em quick with the faster gear ratio and the HEG gearing makes gives this reel some power!!..... I have been using my fresh water light okuma swim bait rod...... perfect for plactics and my money bait= soft bodied jerkbaits rigged weedless of coarse.....!!!

Shimano does'nt make the curado D anymore.....But i hear the New curado is Money!!

Curado 200E5 with a G loomis Greenwater 7'6" 10-20.

Sweet set up and lots of fun, oh straight 30lb spectra with 3ft leader of Floro.

Lots of ways to skin a cat.

A Calcutta or Curado 200 on the Teramar TMC-X80M makes a great calico combo. I load mine with 12# PLine CXX.
The Daiwa Inshore CL791HRB (7'9", rated 10-20) is a nice 12# rod too. It's not as fast as the Teramar and a great rod for the money (~$70).

For 12# I use the Shimano Teramar TMC-X76M, X80M, the Daiwa Inshore CL791HRB and a couple of Shimano Convergence CVC-70MH (7', rated 12-25). For 12# I have a couple of Calcutta 250's, a Curado 200, a Daiwa Millionaire CVX-253, a Catala 300 and a Corsair 300.

Avet S/X and you are allowed to put this reel on a bigger stick and chase dorado, or bigger stuff. I just think about making the most out a dollar spent wisely. S/x are not too expensive and will step up in 30 lb rigs or down to 12 lb. But if you don't ever go far offshore you won't need it.
