I counted 18 boats on the inside...looked to be organized out there. Definitely more boats/hoops per square foot than ever before.

Wow, I didn't attempt to even hoop last night.

The only way you're gonna do it at Ventura Harbor is to dive them up, closure is for hoop netters right now.

Debbie, the best thing is to wait untill all this idiocy gets straightned out. Ventura Harbor is currently closed, Channel Islands Harbor will be full of hoops and unless you really know the islands, hooping out there can be pretty messy. Keep following the post for changes. Maybe bring your boat up and scout around some when you can. Some of us can help you if you let us know when you come up.

I plan on taking my yak out tonight. What has the traffic been like mid week? Do I need to get out early, like 5 or so or does it fill up early? Anyone else going out look me up. Blue SCRAMBLER XT / yellow slicker.

It's not as busy during the week. You should have plenty of room to set up your nets.

Also, we were stopped 3 times the other night by the harbor patrol and fish & game. They searched my boat and checked every single lobster very carefully.

If a bug is questionable to keep, DO NOT keep it. If you're guage is off just a hair, you're going to get a ticket. Good stuff in my opinion!
