Early Season Seabass?
Since it is only March 6th, there is a lot of HOPE in that statement, but there seems to be some science to back it up. I'm going to give it a shot on Monday.
The Pacific Dawn happens to have an open party trip scheduled on the same day I have off from work (not really a coincidence

), so I'm going. the Mirage is chartered, and I haven't checked on Seabiscuit yet.
Buoys and satellite show the temps around Santa Rosa creeping up over the last several days with pockets of 57-59 degree surface temps in the usual spots. Also, looking at the buoy reports, the warm up over the last 2 weeks looks just like the warm up from LATE March 2007 when the first WSB were brought over the rail around 3/30/07 at Santa Rosa.
Add in a new moon, nice tide, and a day off work, that means there could be a legitimate chance of some quality fish. If not, I'll still have a good time.
Weather forecasts are always an issue at Santa Rosa, but it looks doable (especially on the experimental forecasts
NOAA Graphical Forecast for Los Angeles/Oxnard, CA.)
You don't know if you don't go, so I'm going. The next full moon has to look good on paper too.
