My shark rigs are a Avet ex50, Shimano Tiagra 16, then the Penn int50 and 114hlw are my back up loaner set ups. The 50 is the bomb though

It really depends on what kind of shark and what kind of size you'd like to be able to deal with. There is a huge difference between very large Threshers and Makos, and the smaller versions. Any of the high end 50's and up, 2 speed for sure (International, Accurate, Tiagra, Avet) would make for a good solo outfit.

I use a Avet ex50w,Penn 50vsx and a Avet ex40w.
Shark fishing you want to be ready for when you hook the big one so don`t be under gunned.
You wouldn`t take a squirrel gun to kill an elephant.

Zebco 202 should do it! Back in the old days that's all I had and those darn Black Tips in Florida had no chance...........happy hunting my friend I use a Penn 50 wide now!

Short stick with two speed reel. 50-80# line and hang on! Penn 50 is the standard but heavy. Shimano TLD 30 is lighter and comforable to fish but I saw one break off at the reel seat. The guy was working with a harness.
