MDR tubing?...DFG pulls 50# plus halis

Anyone ever tube MDR? I havent ever seen anyone tube out there only kayaks. Just curious if anyones ever tubed MDR....A regular kayaker said that DFG pulled a few 50# plus halis out of the middle of the harbor..if anyones ever tubed there let me know...it seems like a great place...seems like people could launch from the launch ramp and kick over to the bait dock..y'all let me know.

ya there is ALOT of boat traffic. Unless you stay off to the side and fish the docks and moored boats, I bet it wouldnt be to feasible.

fished NEWPORT harbor on weekends. Had a crap load of boat traffic there too...kayaks, rental boats and people who own boats...like you said steve..I had to stay on the side BUT it was doable. Just curious if anyones ever done it themself.

Like Odogfish said there are parts of the area if you are in a tube you will get ticketed. I know the front side of the main break wall is off limits to fishing/hooping/crabbing. So I would follow Odogs advice.

I'm thinking of taking a float tube I have down towards Malibu from Ventura to do some fishing. Does anyone have any reports from that area? Are there any Calico's or Sand bass biting around there in the Kelp?
