Trailer boat service/repair in Ventura area

Ok, where can I get an aluminum trailer serviced?

Thanks,
David

I had a strange thing happened while going only a couple miles to gas up ... lost 2 bolts on one hub. Sheered of clean and the wheel was loose. My lugs are all rusted tight and need to be torched to remove them so there is no way they came loose.

I am concerned about metal fatigue and considering having new bolts press-fitted on all four hubs or buying 4 new hubs.

Also, I really need to have my brakes serviced. They are clean but it has been 4 years since they were serviced.

Get the numbers off the hubs if you can and get new ones. MUCH cheaper then having the old studs punched and new ones added. If they are that far gone you most likely will need new hubs anyway if not more. All that is really easy to work on if you have the room to do so.

ABTrailer

Spoke to Alex at ABTrailer, the only aluminum trailer producer in the area. He told me that there have been a number of loose wheel situations lately and he thinks it is either bolt fatigue or the galvanization on the wheel. He said it is rather simple to knock out the bolts in insert new ones so I am going to give that a try.

Cheers,
David
