Newbie's question

Hi everyone, couple of my friends and I went out to Horseshoe & Huntington flat on Sunday but got nothing! We fish from 11:00am - 4:00pm and only caught a few mackrel! We're thinking of getting out to the Cat. this Friday early morning, but not sure about the wheather. What do you guys think going to Cat this Friday?? We'll be taking our 21' cuddy cab. Thanks for all the inputs..

Cheers...!
Kevin

W WINDS 10 TO 15 KT. WIND WAVES 2 FT. W SWELL 2 TO 4 FT.

Depending on your captain you are looking good in the forcast if it doesnt change. Now as for fishing at cat just look for the fleet that will be out there. Trust me 2000 boats can't be missed.

Kevin, don't assume you will have squid available from the light boats. Do your homework beforehand and it could very well save your trip. Try calling the following numbers and see if they have been able to make bait:

Long Beach Carnage (562) 714-8103
Dee Marie (805) 427-1722

One more thing, make sure you're on the grounds well before daybreak. It has been an early morning bite and then the mackeral take over. On the other hand there have been fish caught in the late afternoon.

Good luck and post a report! By the way, I will be there Saturday. Give me a shout on ch 69.
