Hopped on the BMS on 7/11 for a day and a half of fishing. Target was Albies and anyone else around. After hearing from a bro who just got back on the Condor (full load & 13Albies) I was still trying to be positive.
Upon departure at 9pm Capt. Ben Griffith assembles us all in the galley and gives us the news. Seems the bite had stopped overnight. However, we are destined for the land of fatties and tails (no not Adalitas

), but what sounds like the promised land. Calm seas and a fast boat make for good company. Due south and wake me in the morning. I awaken to flat seas and breaking fish. Not a bad start. We continue south and encounter our first paddy. WHOA HOO - Dorado and several YT's come to gaff. Next stop is on a troll fish. Nice BF that came off at the boat
Everyones doing the shuffle. We continued on and hit multiple paddies for YT and a few Dodos. My bro Jim picks up a Yellowfin, and the next thing I know it is YT frenzy at the back of the boat. Yeah now!! These are bruisers too. I have to admit I lost mine (you should have seen it), but recovered and picked up another. We continued trolling and bingo bongo bango nacho -its a quad at the stern - Four Albies!!. The course of the day panned out this way. Not the wide open Albie bite we all hoped for, but a great variety of YT, Albies, Dodos, BF, and a YF. Upon arrival back at port we figured over 70YT, 9 Dodos, 2BF, 7 a 1YF was a great time.
My count 3YT, 2CR, 2mystery fish. Last year started off similiarly and I can't wait to get back out there. Thanks for taking the risk Capt. Griffith. Fishing is hunting and catching, and we did both. Now if I could only get used to casting around that stairway

. They're out there brothers, get some if you can.
