Hey all,
we made it out friday night... weather was AWESOME for a trip to rosa. We fished seabass at eagles nest for nothing.... but did see PilotLight boat something nice enough to open stern gate. At about 7am Capt. Bobby got a call from the SeaJay... boating some nice fish (up to 40lbs) around the corner from us... SO... we hurried around the corner and parked next to them. The Pacific Islander also arrived shortly after...
We saw a private boater hooking and landing seabass... the seajay also getting some... alsomost right away someone got a nice 20lb halibut...then Erika aka TopShot hooked up, but it was a leo shark... so, no seabass for us for awhile. BUT after about half an hour we got our first two on board. Took about an hour, and we ended up with 5 seabass, a couple of batrays, one harbor seal, and a big black (we think).
With the day quickly being short, we ran out deep and pulled on some nice rockfish. HUGE CHUCKS! The only one out of our group to get a ling was me. Flipper ended up with a solid limit of Chuckleheads. Most of the others had a nice mix.... even my mom nailed a bunch of hog reds. Randy aka Stickerguy got the biggest red though... ran about 6 lbs.
All in All... great day to be on the water. Overcast kept the wind down below ten knots... waves were mild... fishing the front side of rosa is always awesome.
Randy took a bunch of pics, so Im sure he will upload them soon....
Erika has some on her camera too...
