Mirage open party 7-29

Went out with some friends Jeff, Jay, and Jays sons on a 1.5 day. Got to the boat, settled in and went to sleep. Woke up when they were picking up bait. What a cool site to see. It looked like the sardines and squid were schooling together and the Mackerels were schooling above them. These pics do not it justice.

We then went and started fishing. Man, the mac's were in attack mode. Some giant footballs too! I caught some that blew my mind. WSB wernt biting. At grey light a keeper was caught. Then We moved to the front of the Island and gave it a try. The jackpot WSB was caught there.

No more WSB for us. Rock fishing time. That's when we started to fill our sacks. I couldn't believe to reds that were coming up. I saw a lot of double hook ups. I got some nice chuckleheads and a couple nice white fish. Then got me a ling cod.

Ate a single Kona Burger. What a great mix! The pineapple with jalapenos really rocks! People were also having their rock fish cooked into tacos.

Later in the day one of my chuckles was turned into 3 tacos. Outstanding!

The chef! Great food!!

I ended the day with a giant sack of fish! 2 lings, 1 red, and 2 white fish made some big filets, the rest were average sized.. I cant wait to try the white fish. That may happen for dinner tonight!

I really enjoyed the rockfishing. The best I have had in a while! Great times!

I forgot to mention. And I feel like crap for not remembering his name. But, the surfer deck hand (real cool guy). Well, he bit one of the eyes off of that red I got, spit the eyeball lense out onto the rail, then started drooling the rest of the eyeball slime down his chin. LOL.
