MIX BAG FOR AUG 2...3
Just a quick note that the trip we had advertised here for aug 2 got out thanks to a group from L.A.
We left 2 pm due to a half day trip I had scheduled for sat. got out to the 302 and had a sundowner for 12 albies. They bit right through to dark. It was kinda hard to leave that spot but we wanted to go down to the hidden bank as there was good reports down there for the patty fishing.
We drove real slow and got there for 1st light. Got a kelp that went nuts!! Every rod bent for about an hour till we had our limits of yellow tail
We decided to leave that area as we had our limits , headed north for
kelps that were holding dorado.Throughout the rest of the day we had 12 do dos and a yellowfin tuna trolling up to the 425.
And to end the day.... we hooked and released a marlin at the 371!!
The guys were really good and hardly lost any fish, which is pretty darn good when every rod is going off
At any rate...... thats the report from down here in San Diego.... The fishing is really close with dodos being caught as close as 5 miles from the beach and a new batch of albies moving off to the west. Yellowfin tuna on the 9 and down below the islands.
We have a few open dates this week and the last week of august... the time to get em is now!!!
See ya on the water
