Fished the Aloha Spirit with some friends on a Stpeh charter yesterday. It was a five to five and they had the boat ready and everyone was on time and we were off. Shawn was captain, Eddy deck and Jerry cook/deck. Shawn said plan was to find WSB and do some calico and if that works out come back and hit the flats for some sandbass, no rockfishing today.
We had a butter crossing and Shawn was getting some reports of one here one there on the radio.
Greg, Todd and Thomas.
Chuckers
We showed up just after a brief bite with the Island Tak putting a few on and the See Jay and Cobra in the area.

Conditions were just perfect for enjoying the day with sunny skies and just enough wind so we didn't bake.
Shawn was metering schools pretty much all day we just couldn't get them to bite. He put us on several schools, but we would usually pic a few calico's and sculpin per stop and then chase again. On a few of the stops we got into such good calico bites we just stayed and played. Guys were mostly fishing 1/4oz slider and some dropper loops, but after awhile all the toys came out. The plaids were hungry and we all were using light set ups( I had a calcutta 100 / clarus 8'6" med light) and gettin hit hard by these guys was super fun. At about 11 Shawn threw the hook and we got into our best non wsb bite.
Thomas bendo on another one
Kam. Sorry I got a dink shot.
Todd got hit by something that just took 200 ft straight back and he could not turn for the life of him.
Consensus was a bsb. We at one point had 4 barracuda and Todds fish and a few TOAD calicos going all at once. After all the cuda got boarded Todd was still on his fish not making much disitance. After 30 min he started making ground and saw some deep color then bink gone.
After lunch Shawn was keen to look again and started motoring around again. After 30 min's we here DROP UM DROP UM NOW! we do and boom I get hit and then another and another to the toon of five on board in like two minutes, good job Eddy. Shawn says bring um up and moves quick and we pic two more about 100ft away. Then that was it, Shawn motored around for another 30 and said no more boys were headin in and we started back. Missed Jon's JP fish and the other one
Great day on the water, Thanks to Steph for the charter and the crew for great service.
