182 report 8-8-08
Sorry for the late report. Not many pics, too busy fishing I guess.
Anyways, trailered down to Oceanside Friday and fished the 182 to 43. Dorado everywhere. Many dinks, but kept six of the larger fish (6-12 lbs) and a few casualties. Released at least a dozen. Also picked up a pair of yft off a small paddy (far drift). Light line was the key as we heard many guys out there with not many fish. All our fish were caught on 15 lb. Caught fish on just about every paddy, even one six or seven miles out of Oceanside. Best paddy of the day was no bigger than a trash can lid.
Spent an hour or so trolling for albies on a nice temp breat west of the 43. Water went from 72.5 to 70.5 in a quarter mile. No fish and pretty lifeless. Heard of albies south of the 182, but we didn't have Mex. permits, so had to stay on our side of the line.
Good bait, nice weather and a great day with my son and brother.
