San Diego calls again, another great YFT bite!!

Got a call from a friend to join him on his 31' Contender for a 1/2 day of fishing off the Coronados. We'd be crazy to say no, so my son and Kendrick left Tuesday at 7:00AM and headed fo Dana Landing. No traffic made a quick trip and marina was very quiet coming off the long weekend. Loaded up with supplies, fuel, and awesome bait which included chovies which we put in a seperate tank. Headed out with the sound of those awesome twin 350 Yammies.
We found a pod of porpoise holding fish, but some less than experienced boaters made fishing very tough. We did manage to pull one out for Kendrick, his first YFT ever!! We made a quick move NW and hit the jackpot with a triple while the fish were still boiling on the chovies. Now this is getting real fun!!! Caught all fish flylining with 2/0 hooks.
Even though we had a short day, it still felt like we had fished for hours longer. Our total count was 8 YFT, 3 lost, and one dorito we picked up on the way back in. I can't say enough how much fun it was to spend just a day in San Diego fishing the pelagics, and then spend the night in my own bed. Go get em!!!!
