This past week we used 25# mono and never had any issues and seemed to handle any YFT that came to us. There are some bigger fish out there and you may want another reel spooled up with 40# just in case. Use 2/0 Mustad live bait hooks, worked great for us and were highly recommended by the Dana Tackle shop as well as another very experienced fishing buddy in SD. We just flylined without any weights. Good luck out there.

Bring some 25# fluorcarbon leader material and use a smaller 50-lbr type swivel or ring to attache the main line to the 3' leader. Nose hook the liviest baits you can find and don't be affraid to fish the bow. Swimbaits on the slide work well too. Try 1.5 to 2 ounce chanhel isle chovie.

Bring a huge Ice chest to bring back all those bluefin fillets. Don't worry, the guys/gals on the boats can tie cast and land your fish for you in case you want to take it easy, That;s how I got to be such a great fisherman, I always leave it up to the crew and I just sit down and watch them do all the work, It really makes for a more relaxing trip that way
