Point Loma 3/4 day 9-5

Sorry for the late report.
Fished the Point Loma 3/4 day boat last Friday 9/5.

We fished the porpoise schools for no luck, he was
metering large schools below them but we couldn't
get them to bite. We went after a bird school and
could see the tuna jumping we got on top of them and
landed a few. Chased them down again got a couple
more. They sank out after that.

We trolled around looking for life. We picked up a
couple of albies on a couple different troll stops.
Most on the troll plus an albie or two on bait.
The albies were all small, except for one caught
on a solo troll stop, must have been pushing 30.

We fished a few paddies for nothing. Although in
one area there was a pair of paddies so after fishing
one we trolled over to the other, half way there
all three trollers go off. Baits go in and those get
bit, so I put away the iron and toss a sardine.
Most of the boat is hooked up and we're hootin
and hollerin. They didn't stick around though and
that was about it for the day.

I landed a pair of 20lb yellowfin. I got one on the iron
and one on bait. My buddy Brent landed his first tunas
a small Albie on bait, a Skippy on the troll, and the JP
Yellowfin on bait. All three were firsts for him, made sure
the deckie cut out a nice golfball sized heart for him.
Thouroughly enjoyed watching him gag on it.
Crew was great, captian and crew were friendly
and outgoing. Lots of fun, will definitely fish this boat again.
Only negative would be that it was a small boat and
seating was very limited.

When we got back to the landing the Q105 was docking
at the same time and they had a little party going on.
