Catalina Island 9-18 Pursuit out 22nd St.

Fished on the Pursuit out of 22nd St Landing in San Pedro. Headed towards Catalina Island for another productive day of fishing. The day started out slow, but turn into a great day of fishing. No yellows today, but the calico bass and bonita put on a good show.

Nice cured sardines with a mix of anchovies.

Josh with a nice calico bass.

Me with my first bass of the day.

Deen with a nicer bass.

Sorry didn't get your names, but it was nice fishing with you guys.

If Big D can catch them, it must be wide open.

Me with an average bass.

Nicer grade of bonita.

Nice fish Cal.

Surface iron bonita.

Good bye Catalina Island see you next week.

Pelicans greeted us at the docks.

Nicer calico bass released after they were weighed for jackpot.
All in all, it was a great day to be out on the water. The loads are lighter and the fishing is great. Now would be a good time to get out on the water. Total fish count for the boat according to sportfishingreport.com was 27anglers who caught 18 Whitefish, 22 Rockfish, 50 Halfmoon, 15 Sheephead, 68 Calico Bass, 135 Bonito, 1 Barracuda.
My final count was:
Limits of bonita (on the surface iron)
7 calico bass (caught on the sardine)
I would like to thank the crew aboard the Pursuit for another great trip. Thanks for reading guys and goodluck on your next fishing adventure, Pokerface.
