The get bent'ers did well

Thats right ...36 seabass... and way more lost! It could have easily been a full boat limit for the mirage if all fish were landed.

I'll let randy put up hisreport before I say more... but I had a blast!!!

The Gent Benters Did Real Well!

(well except for Baja who really enjoyed the Mirage Hilton. Too much fun during the Erna B Day Trip!! I'll let Him Explain LOL)

FULL HEAVY SACKS OF FISH!

I arrived about 8:30 to the Landing...My fisrst inquiry was the weather...

NOAA forecast for Saturday was 15-20 - THE MIRAGE SAID IS WAS GREAT OUT THERE! NOAA Wrong AGAIN!

Forecast for Sunday 20-25 winds 7 to 9 swell - It never blew harder than 10 knots and the swells never got bigger than 5 feet..

I really wanted to try the new C3 Squid Jigs out in Action! However, The mirage had some live squid on board for us and then wescooped squid on the "Outer Banks" lights about 3:00 amat Santa Rosa... Later after we pulled away, We finally did have a chance to use the jigs and the work great! Theyll be in the stores soon!

At that time, SFR member Roland Crane drops down with a secret jig with a squid pinned on it and hooks the first seabass - while we were scooping squid!!! During the day Roland hooked 7 or 8 seabass with this jig! NO KIDDING - LANDED 5 of them!! CAN YOU SAY - HOT STICK OF THE DAY!

We picked at Seabass from 3:30 till 6:00 and SHUT DOWN....

We did the rockfish move and it was game on.....Limits of Rockfish...We moved in a little shallower and the whitefish wanted to play. I caught the largest whitefish Ive ever seen! Awesome fun on 15 lb test on a light eod...It pulled like a ling, drag and all!

Pictures will be up of the fish on www.sportfishingreport.com in a day or two...I have some member shots I can post here later...

Thanks again to the whole crew.....Joe, Louie, Tucker, Miguel, Moorea and..........GBSF Member Tony "Dos Amigos" as pinhead!

Tony - You did a great job! Im really impressed with your line skills as well! Stay humble and you wil go a long way!! The creew thought you did great - I hope you work on the mirage for a long time to come!

I'll let the guys add the rest!

Next SFR trip on the Mirage is Departing Friday 8/20 for Fishing on Saturday 8/21 - Lots of availability!!

Cant do that to Roland! I will say that it was a lead head based jig and it was about 2 oz in weight! Current was almost nil at Rosa believe it or not!

JP was 20lbs!

He was on fire!!!
