I would like to give extra credit to Paul Rich (skipper, val's son ) forgiving the extra effort (time) and his wife for being such agreat sport with the Dark Kings.
I forgot the deck hands name but he did a great job, thank you!
JR12! nice meeting you, you fit right in buddy!
We had a blast and we're thinking about do it again very soon.
We left the harbor around 5ish with two other twilight boats, theCoroloma, and the speedtwin. Both boats headed to LaJenelle, we headed downhill, cool something different. The first stop could of been very productive for big grumpers if we fished a certain way(secret) because I got several hits but only landed 2 nice size SB. Paul knew that we neededsome action around the boatso he made several moves to find a spot were the fish wanted to play. We picked some fishhere and there but not what we really needed toget the action and the excitment going around the rail. After awhile it didn't matter. Most of the Dark Kings were getting Dark Kingish and they all started yelling like Carns............
Paul took us to this one spot that was just awesome! Everyone was hooking up . but the only thing was that everyone was getting rocked big time. Big calies!!!
You had to fish them like Yellowtail in the rocks, reel in gear, tight drag, and a fast action rod and wind, wind, and double wind as fast as you could!
Everyone had a blast trying to catch these bad boys and some of uswere lucky. I need to visit this place again. I'll be ready this time that's for sure. It was a beautiful night with no wind and big full moon (orange) what a sight! Current was perfect (down hill) clear and about 60 degrees.
Val, Paul, thank you so much for a great birthday and twilight trip, we'll do it again soon.
