News Little Island Big Yellows

After my boat went out without me last weekend and scored a nice yellowtail I had to go. Got my buddy Mike K to take out his Whaler 28, loaded up on live candy and headed to Anacapa. Got to the spot with the rest of the flotilla and anchored. Threw a few lines in with squid and started in throwing the iron. About an hour in I heard a beautiful noise, sounds something like click, click zooooooooooooo. I knew right away it was on, about 15 min later pulled in a nice trophy yellowtail. After a celebration I noticed a familiar GBer has been anchored 100' from us the whole time. MJ!!! It was great seeing you guys out there on "Off Gassin". Shortly after my hookup Off Gassin was hooked up, pulled in a monster from what I hear but we will never know since MJ does not own a scale. I got some decent pictures of the fight from our boat, not the best quality. 30 min later Mike K hooks up and gets snapped off, bummer for the capt. Overall beautiful day, great smack talking between fellow GBers and nice yellowtail. Good luck everyone this weekend, they are brutes.
