Newport Harbor 11/2

My friend and I headed to newport harbor and rented a skiff at davey's locker. Davey's didnt open till 7 so we had to wait as we got there 6:30. When it open get paid for our boat for a full day . Was told The bait barge was gone so no live bait to be had. We started at the mouth of the harbor. We use plastics,Krocs, shrimp and squid. Of the bat a short halibut but after that it was a very slow day picking up 10" - 12" bass . Called it a day at 4:30

ill let the pictures do the rest of the reporting

final count

Me

3- Calicos
3 -Sandie
1- Halibut
1- Barracuda
2 - Macs
1 - rubberliip perch

friend

Not a bad day when you consider all the crap that has been dumped in the water by these fires. Went down to my boat today to wash it and the soot was everywhere. The wind was blowing out to see and snowing ash. So if you caught something you were doing well. By the way anytime your headed to Newport take small glup shrip and 2 inch swim baits. Both work great.

Thanks for the report.
