Had Cabin Fever Went Fishing 1/26/08
rsonl541 and I were bored all week from all the rain so I had an idea to let's go to Port Hueneme Pier and wet the line...we got there at around 2pm rigged up some ultralite surf rods with carolina rigs and motoroil red flake grubs for bait and started casting in thewhite wash.....Andrew had never caught a BSP so he was surprised when he got a strike, he did't say anything because he thought it was the waves..."he was all happy" as for me the pro didn't bring one in but enjoyed teaching Andrew how to rig his line and teach him more about fishing in saltwater. Here's some great pictures of this cold and windy, but dry, day! He caught the fish with his 7' Shakespeare Cirrus combo setup with 8# test..........Congrats Andrew on your first BSP!

OB, I'm using a two piece 9' ultralite fly rod that I wrapped into a spinning rated 4-12 lb. test with a Shimano Stradic 1500 with #8 line.
