We were out at CIH on Friday night (with a few others!) and I am really surprised on how many red rock crabs we pulled up! We must have pulled (and released most) over a hundred. We managed 11 legal lobster (four of us) and had probably15 shorts. Nothing over 2 lbs. This was my first time....so my initial observations are: It was cold (and wet since the spray from breaking swells on the outside broke over the breakwall), it's hard work, and I can't figure out where the supply of bugs come from? Do they migrate from other areas? Although a few more people came out around 9-10pm, it was fairly crowded from 5pm on. Everyone seemed to respect each other's space until later when a few became frustrated over the lack of space (the entire inside had nets every 10-20 feet!) One guy on a kayak stayed out there from 5 pm until we left at 10 pm...that guy was a "die hard"!!! It's always fun spending time with good friends...and getting a few bugs was fun but I don't think I'll go out and buy a bunch of nets....but I do need to get one of those "head lights" (spotlight strapped to your head!)...those are cool!

I really like the photos. Where can I buy an outfit like that? I'm betting people leave you plenty of space when they see Alkada.
