LB hoopin 3/15-3/16

well i got a text from rithy (re8elmonk) the day b4 asking me if i wanted to go hooping with himself and his buddy. being it would be my first time i was like for sure  so i met up at his pad around 5:40 and we headed out to get gas and some muchies and then on our way to launch. his buddy couldnt make it so it was just us.

we got out just b4 sunset so that was a good thing. man it was windy all the way to our first spot but we got there a lil wet so we set the first pots and let them soak bout hour to hour and half. so he pulled up the first set and out of those pots we got, 2 legal bugs and some crabs. spider crab and forgot the other one. the spider was released.

so the 2nd drop was basically the same spots since we had a succefull pull the 1st time. so back down again and the wait. the wait wasnt bad since we both had our set-ups to fish for bass or whatever wanted to bite. we had a very consistant bass bite all night long. between the both us we got 10 legal sandbass with alot of shorts released. only 1 scullie caught too. oh yea a couple small johnny bass released also.

so another hour or so goes by and this time i pull up the pots...being my first time i was making sure i was doing this right...so when all pots were pulled up i ended up pulling 3 up. 2 came up in one pot so i was all bout that.
so after that we decided to try another spot in deeper water and maybe come up on some rockfish and skullies. unfortunatly in the short version no luck @ all in either. nothing wanted to bite and no bugs wanted to cooperate. only action there was this seal trying to tricks for us like a dolphin would do...one confused seal

so we decided to go back to where we first started and try it again. dropped them in the same area as last time..just spread out a lil different and gave it another hour and half soak. we pulled these up for just one legal bug and one that got away that was hanging to the side of the pot. i didnt see it but it could of been the biggest one we got that night. only if we let it sit another few minutes.

so after that we called it a night. it was already 2:30 in the morning. so going back in was like a breeze. the wind died out after like 2 hours of us being out there and no rain at all...it actually cleared up. guess the weather people where wrong. but on the way in did see a storm way out in the horizon. well lightning, lighting up the sky with the boooom afterwords
so we got all situated and took picz with the bugs (should have them shortly) and then headed back home. we both ended up with 3 so that was definatly a good night being my first time and for a good bday present for rithy. happy bday bro. thanks again for letting me join u hooping 8-)

i took some picz with my camera phone after i got home so enjoy these till i get the other ones.
