South Shores Landing is gonna be closed this coming weekend for the "Crew Classic" rowing races.
There's been a lot of prep work. Makes for interesting structure for fishing.

I hurt my back so I didn't fish for more than 2 weeks. Got skunked last night with my neighbor Kalle, but tonight was a different story altogether. Kinda windy at first, but it calmed down. I started with used 5" Sardine colored Jerk Shad Gulp on a beat-up yellow leadhead, and caught my first three on it.

For some reason there were a lot of fish skeletons, and some bits of carcass all along the shore.

The third fish came up with more green than fish. Unfortunately it swallowed the leadhead and just didn't make it. I put on an old curly tail plastic lure that I think I got from a friend, not sure, but I know it sat in Gulp juice, on a funky leadhead for quite some time. First cast got a tickle, then about 5 casts later a bass with some shoulders...

I caught one more fish on the curly tail, then moved back over to the ramp and my first cast out was slammed by something really powerful. It took some drag, and 3 hard tugs, and PING! bye-bye curly tail plastic and funky leadhead. I don't think it was a bass.

Fantastic to be fishing again, what an excellent night, and Sati had a blast hunting rabbits and squirrels.
