phishy what is your take on the light?

Were they all that you thought they would be?

What wattage are they?

Plenty of room for rods heheehe - out here it would be a big lightening stick.

I had to go back and read - 31 Rod Holders on the boat. I could take out all my rods and reels - OK, well almost but still, should be able to be prepared for whatever comes your way.

Nice looking sleds by the way, both of them . . . . . .

my take? hmm...MONEY! lol..gotta be honest, i was skeptical myself. VERY..
These things are pretty new, say about the last year they got exposure, and i honestly dont know anyone that uses them for what i intend. But in the murky waters of ventura harbor, there was plenty of penetration in the water column. With the light being disbursed in a wide arc, 2 lights will be more then enough for the initial attraction of the squid. I like to switch over to single light for netting this way i concentrate them.
For location on planing speed was another worry but they sit so far out of the way at the bottom portion of the tab it was a no factor. I took a good look today at the lights for water intrusion and didnt see a drop, still dry as a bone. Not to shabby over all. Im very happy with the sea trail.

Each lamp is 50watts, they should pull around 9 amps combined. I haven't thrown an ammeter on them yet to verify.

And you can never have enough rod storage, ODH taught me that. i still cant house his collection.

Thanks phishy.

I been looking at these, well all different types for some time now and have an offer to get a set at cost but am just having trouble pulling the trigger.

If you don't mind keeping me updated on your use, experiences and thoughts I sure would appreciate it.

I kept one fish btw, and i used my rapala electric fillet knife, that was a wonderful xmas gift. It worked like a charm, even to get the skin off. Took about a min and half to slice and dice it.

Cool had been waiting to hear about the Electric Fillet Knife. So they really do work. Do you feel you lost any meat as a result or just as good as an old fashioned fillet knife?

Your gonna have to start doing some reviews with pictures for all of us.

Way to Go Mitch....Boat is looking Sweet....

With the amount of light boats from WA,OR etc in Ventura harbor now....It appears there must be a good deal of squid out there! Its time to fill your freezers!!!

there was very little loss of meat, and it was much easier then a real knife. Ive yet to put it to a real test, but i think it will work just fine. I will get pictures one of these trips
