Mugu Rock

Hi all ... the weather wasnt as bad as i had anticipated so i headed out to the rock. I got there at 7:45 and i had the beach all to my self. I started fishing a blam on my 13' daiwa surf rod and after 20 minutes i hadn't got a bite so i started fishing for perch. The fish we're cooperating nicely for the entire morning. Smaller fish, maybe half a pound each but, lot's of them. Final count was close to 40 fish in 3.5 hours.

Camo gulps strike again!

Tight Lines!

I'll add to Mugu..but on base. Lots and Lots of small Bat Rays in the Mouth of the creek, one 5 footer Leo caught but he snapped the guys line (He didn't have a steel leader) just as he started to beach it..So they are out there. Believe it or not Low tide has been more productive in that area than High Tide. Hi Tide is better for fishing on the Beach stretch..and ALWAYS..2 hours before to 2 hours after..after that it's just dead time. For the Leos..you can't go wrong with squid. Problem is..the Bat Rays like Squid too. Perch crack (Gulp sandworms) as always and without a doubt will get you a perch.
The Shovels will nail either Squid or Sardines..they aren't as picky.
My 2 cents
